Dear OneZero reader,

You’ve probably been asked how much you value your privacy. But your answer might not matter.

OneZero has tracked down a company integrating live facial recognition into police body cameras, opening the door to a new kind of surveillance that you can’t opt out of. It’s a move that crosses an ethical boundary other companies have thus far maintained. And the beta is already being tested in at least one U.S. city.

OneZero will continue to report on facial recognition and surveillance around the world. Thank you for supporting our work! Feel free to drop me a note with your thoughts — or self-publish on Medium using the tag “Facial Recognition.” We’d love to hear from you.

Best,
